Farmers soup

This is a soup I invented, when I was sick.I roasted half an onion, with one big fine cut big carrot and some fine cut celery sticks, in some veggie oil till golden and added 1 cup of old fashioned rolled oats and continue with roasting.
Till the oats are roasted through (not burned...be careful and stir!!!!)add 1qt veggie soup stock.
Add garlic ( which is very good to disinfect your system!)and some caraway (make your body gas free!)And if you like pepper.

Cook all together for app.10 min.and you have a perfect and healthy soup for nearly no money!

Easy Vegetarian dish

At poor times there were a lot of vegetarian meals developed, because there just was no meat.
My grandmother made something delicious what was called " Grenadiermarsch"
It's easy,fast,healthy and delicious.

That's how you do it:

Roast one onion till it is golden, ad peeled slices of 3 cooked big potatoes and roast till potatoes are golden too.Spice it up with salt, pepper, garlic and caraway (ground)
then add cooked pasta (1.5 cup)and roast with the other ingredients untill the pasta is warm too.
Serve with mixed leaf salad and enjoy!

Hard times good food

Every difficult time has developed food in the past.
The world would not have a lot of dishes if there had not been poor people.
I think about pizza or pasta what has been created by the poor in Italy, having to feed lots of family members.
An other example is the Guyas. The creation of shepards in the plains (Puszta)of Hungary. They had onions, beef, carrots, garlic, salt and pepper and for sure the best
Paprka Powder in the world. They cooked that stew in big kettles over the open fire in the fields where their sheeps had their grass.
Later on the Guyas was brought to the Emporers Castle in Vienna and made finer.
The Guyas today in Austria is thicker than the Hungarian and is prepared as follows:

1kg beef (from the shank)
1kg onions fine chopped
3 Tbsp Paprika powder
Garlic (4 gloves fine crusted)
1 l Beefstock
salt, pepper and 1 Tbsp Majoram

Roast the onions golden though that they are dry.
Add the meat and roast with the onions ,
take the pot from the fire and mix the paprika powder in and add a tbsp vinegar
that the Paprikapowder don't get bitter.

Add the liter beefstock and add everything else.
Let cook on low flame till meat is tender and the onion have thickend the sauce.

Serve with peeled ,cooked potatoes and enjoy!
